“Wild in the City” is a team orienteering challenge that uniquely blends urban and outdoor elements, making it particularly suitable for participants ranging from beginners to those of varying skill levels. Participants will navigate through communities, discovering popular photo spots, historical landmarks, nearby scenic areas, and cultural sites, exploring the district’s heritage and experiencing the charm of Hong Kong’s blend of old and new cultures. This event tests participants’ planning abilities, sense of direction, judgment, speed, and teamwork, encouraging them to embrace challenges, realise their potential, and grow through adversity. In celebration of AYP<\/strong>‘s 65th<\/sup> anniversary, “Wild in the City” Orienteering Challenge introduces several new elements this year. The race will feature 65 checkpoints, aiming to enhance both the challenge and commemorative significance of the competition. Additionally, the “Senior Buddy Cup” is being launched to promote inclusivity across generations and encourage teams comprising different age groups to participate, thereby strengthening community bonds. To foster creativity among participants, the event will debut a “Best Costume Award” to show your creativity. A post-race carnival will be held featuring interactive game booths, exciting talent performances, and special surprise segments with abundant prizes, allowing participants and the public to enjoy the festivities together. Each participant who completes the event will receive a finisher medal. Each class will have a champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up. If a class has less than 5 teams, only the champion will be awarded.<\/p>\n

The champion team will receive a trophy, medals, and a selection of generous prizes. Orienteering is not a relay event. All team members must participate together. During the competition, all team members must reach each checkpoint simultaneously. If a team member withdraws, the entire team must return to the event centre and report to the Organiser. The team will be considered as having completed the event. If other team members wish to continue participating in the competition, the Organiser will decide whether to approve it based on the circumstances.
